STAAR Online Testing Program is the secure, student-facing application used across Texas to deliver STAAR assessments digitally. It provides a locked-down testing environment and a consistent, accessible experience for students in eligible grades and subjects, aligning with the state’s online testing requirements.

Key features:

• Secure administration: Runs in a kiosk-like mode to prevent access to other apps, websites, or system tools during testing.
• Embedded tools: Highlighter, line reader, zoom, notepad/scratchpad, calculators and reference materials when permitted by the test, plus support for technology-enhanced item types.
• Accessibility supports: Options such as text-to-speech (for eligible students), color contrast, answer masking, magnification, and keyboard navigation, configured according to a student’s documented accommodations.
• Familiarization resources: Practice tests and tutorials to help students learn the interface and tools before test day.
• Broad device support: Available for district-managed devices on common operating systems (for example, Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and iPadOS), subject to state and district guidelines.
